On July 19, 2008 two earthquakes were recorded by BC-ESP school seismographs. The first earthquake, magnitude 7.0, occurred at 02:39 UTC time OFF THE EAST COAST OF HONSHU, JAPAN. The second earthquake, magnitude 6.7, occurred at 09:27 UTC time in the SANTA CRUZ ISLANDS REGION.

The first P wave arrived at our BC-ESP school seismographs at 03:37 UTC time. An aftershock measuring magnitude 5.0 occurred at 23:52 UTC time on July 15, 2008.
