Respondus is a program that creates exams and quizzes that can then be inserted into Blackboard Vista, or printed out for in-class use. Respondus allows users to:
- Import questions from Microsoft Word
- Choose between 15 question formats (ie, multiple choice, matching, fill-in-the-blank, short answer, etc)
- Insert multimedia files
- Utilize the equation editor to include mathematical and scientific formulas
Once the exam is created, the user can upload it directly to his/her Blackboard Vista site for students to access. Once the exam has been administered, the user can access a variety of statistical data and reporting information on student performance.
Respondus is only compatible with PC’s.

StudyMate is a program that creates Flash-based activities and games for student learning. These activities/games can then be inserted into Blackboard Vista. StudyMate allows users to:
- Create Flash-based activities and games without needing to know Flash or HTML
- Choose between 10 formats (ie, flashcards, matching, crossword puzzles, quizzes, etc)
- Insert multimedia files
- Utilize the equation editor to include mathematical and scientific formulas
Once the activities have been created, the user can upload them directly to his/her Blackboard Vista site for students to access.
StudyMate is only compatible with PC’s.
