Center for Home Care

A collaboration between the Connell School of Nursing and the Visiting Nurse Association of Boston, the Center provides community health training for CSON students and professional development for VNAB staff members.  Center Director Adele Pike wanted to establish a way for the two groups to share common resources, and better integrate theoretical and practical information.  The web site she and her team of colleagues from both institutions created delivers readings, video material, information on CSON clinical sites, and electronic versions of courses mandatory for VNAB nurses. 

The production of the site was as collaborative as the provision and use of its contents.  Instructional Design and eTeaching Services gave staff and financial support for its design, and implementation within Blackboard Vista (to ensure the protection of copyrighted material and provide a roster to monitor the completion of ecourses).   Dwane Joseph, web design assistant at the VNAB, used Flash to develop the ecourses.  Original photography arranged through Media Technology Services featured VNAB staff members.
