Community service is a great way to share your passions and to work for positive change. By being involved in your community, you will learn about other people and their lives. Working in a community means just that you will become a part of a larger group of people. Whether you are teaching immigrant children English, serving meals at a soup kitchen, or visiting the elderly, you are becoming a part of someone else's life just as they become a part of yours. This shared experience fosters community and personal development.

Ways to Serve

Do you want to be inside or outside? Do something new or join an existing organization? Participate by yourself or with family or friends? This section explains how to go about starting a community service project and how to join an existing group.

Pass the Pulse Stories

Genpulsers love to do community service. Read about their projects: what they did, how they did it, and their thoughts about the community they helped. Maybe get some ideas for projects of your own. As always you can submit your Pass the Pulse Stories to us through the Get Involved section.
