Imagine the people ahead of you in the lunch line today; you see the three cheerleaders, the smartest in your science class, the star of the basketball team. One of these kids has probably experienced some form of abuse.

1 in 10 adolescents are maltreated. Of all abuse cases 28% involved 12-17 year olds.

There are 4 Categories of Maltreatment:

1. NEGLECT
Your caregiver is not caring for you physically, educationally or emotionally.

2. PHYSICAL
Any physical act that led or could have led to physical injury.

3. SEXUAL
An act involving inappropriate or unwanted sexual activity.

4. EMOTIONAL
An act that causes or contributes to your having serious mental problems.
